Ricky Gervais Returns as David Brent From the Original 'Office'

Some good news for fans of the original and best version of The Office: Ricky Gervais is coming back as antihero David Brent.

Gervais, who looks remarkably unchanged in 10 years down to his Van Dyke beard, has evolved the character somewhat. Brent, shown in this trailer -- the video above is a teaser -- is now moonlighting as a manager of musical acts. Yet he still lacks self awareness. In the cringe-worthy trailer, he's pushing one of his acts to do a reggae tune he wrote called "Equality Street," replete with improvised patois lyrics as the musicians look on, horrified.

The video promotes what The Hollywood Reporter calls a "short episodic skit" on BBC One that supports charity Comic Relief's fundraising efforts on "Red Nose Day," a telethon that has been held in the UK since 1985.

Gervais launched the UK Office on 2001. The U.S. version premiered six years later.
