I've no idea whether RightCart will be successful, but the concept is certainly an interesting one. The service is essentially a distributed shopping cart - you can put a widget on your website, blog or social networking profile and sell items directly to visitors. What's more, your buyers never have to leave your site - all the action takes place on the RightCart widget.

There are two ways to use RightCart. The first way is to sell your own items, like a plug and play version of Shopify. RightCart takes 1% of the transaction amount. The other way is to choose items from the RightCart catalogue and earn a small commission on every sale - this is broadly similar to MyPicklist, but it's more complex because you need to add both the sidebar widget and a product link to make it work. In the screencast demo, for instance, the blogger writes about his new Mac, then inserts an "Add to Cart" button in the post itself. I'm not sure that bloggers or MySpacers would go to these lengths to earn such a measly commission, but we'll see. I'd also be concerned about entering payment details on a widget, rather than a secure site. Additionally, the widget currently takes up all the space on your blog sidebar, but I'm told they're working on a redesign.

I'm completely undecided on RightCart - some aspects make a lot of sense, while others are less strong. One to watch.
