It's only taken 69 years, but finally luxury French house Dior, has its first black campaign star in Rihanna.

Dior confirmed in March that Rihanna was to be the house's latest celebrity model, but the advertorials rolled out Thursday with steamy images of the 28-year old singer.

"It feels fantastic,” she said to MTV. “It is such a big deal for me, for my culture, for a lot of young girls of any color. I think to be acknowledged by Dior means a lot, as a woman, to feel beautiful — to feel elegant and timeless.”

Rihanna follows in the footsteps of other Dior campaign stars like Jennifer Lawrence, who revealed her beauty campaign Wednesday, and Charlize Theron who has been the face of Dior's fragrance, J'adore.

The photos were shot by Steven Meisel for their Secret Garden IV campaign at Versailles and reveals the Barbadian beauty smoldering in accessory and apparel items.
