Ringly, a company that makes fashionable smart rings, has launched a limited edition version titled “Out to Sea,” available Tuesday.

This piece, along with the original four rings (black onyx, rainbow moonstone, emerald and dive bar), light up and vibrate through Bluetooth technology based on customizable notifications set with the Ringly app.

"All of our stones tell the story of moments in life where I wished I could feel a little less attached to my phone," Christina Mercando, founder and CEO of Ringly, tells Mashable. "Out to Sea was inspired by a fall boat trip, so I chose a deep blue lapis gemstone to remind me of the ocean that day. The lapis gemstone is pyramid-cut to highlight the flickers of gold in each stone."

With five different light-up colors and four vibration patterns, customers can choose what they wanted to be notified about and how.

The brand has integrated with over 50 applications to allow Ringly customers to receive notifications from each of these specific apps, ranging from eBay and Instagram to Uber and Net-A-Porter. Your ring would light up one color when your Uber arrives and another when someone comments on your latest Instagram photo.

"Other women had a similar problem — feeling badly they were always out of reach, or anxiously tied to their devices," Mercando says. "I wanted to create a solution that women would love to wear."

The $195 ring, which initially launches in sizes 6 to 8 (adding sizes 5 and 9 in October), is made with 18K matte gold 3 micron plating and has a pyramid cut lapis deep blue gemstone. It works with the iPhone 5 and newer, or Android devices running Android 4.3 or above. Included with the ring is a charging box and micro USB cable.

Ringly is not the first company to create chic wearable tech pieces that do similar tasks. Tory Burch Fitbit bracelets, Misfit Swarovski bracelets and necklaces along with an assortment of smart watches are examples of alternative options to a ring.

The brand is currently working on new finishes and gemstones as well as developing new bracelet designs.
