Farewell to Biddy. He ran far. He ran strong and he took the entire Internet on a delightful adventure every day.

Biddy, the hedgehog who captivated thousands of followers with his many travels across the United States, passed away on March 1. His owners, Toni DeWeese and Tom Unterseher, posted the news on Instagram Thursday.

According to the post, the four-year-old hedgehog was suffering from many health problems, but cancer was the ultimate cause of death. "We are very thankful for all the time we spent with him before he went...To know that Biddy's photos could bring happiness, laughter and possibly inspire others is breathtaking," they wrote.

Thousands of Biddy fans have been sending their sympathies to Biddy's owners. No more will we see his tiny smile or his itty bitty paws waving in front of majestic scenery.

Biddy may be gone, but he will forever be hedging and hogging in our hearts. Run strong, little buddy.
