Seattle-based Ripl has raised $4.25 million in a Series B round of funding, from individual angel investors. The company has already raised $2 million in its first round of funding, covered by Mashable here.

Gaining angel investment is a seemingly easy thing to do in Seattle. Ripl, which was started by Classmates.com executive Bill Messing, launched late last fall. The network will offer a way for you to stay connected with college friends, via a desktop application of sorts, and boasts a distinct start-page feel to its service. See screen shots here. This upcoming Facebook competitor is currently limiting its private test phase to the University of Washington and the University of Central Florida.
