Lara Croft's next grand adventure may be coming to Xbox One first, but PC and PlayStation users aren't out of luck.

Publisher Square Enix confirms that Rise of the Tomb Raider will come to Windows 10 and Steam in early 2016. A PlayStation 4 release will follow sometime during the 2016 holiday season. There's no mention of a PlayStation 3 release, even though the game is coming to Xbox 360.

Developer Crystal Dynamics' next Lara Croft outing will pick up where the 2013 series reboot left off. After narrowly surviving the events of the last game, Lara returns home to discover she's been discredited. It's a cover-up that's tied to some kind of ancient mystery. Lara sets out to redeem her name, following a trailer that leads her deep into the snowy mountains of Siberia.

The 2013 Tomb Raider reboot reimagined Lara Croft as a young ex-student, fresh out of school, bright-eyed and ready for adventure. She's not the same person when she finally escapes from the remote island where she ends up stranded after a shipwreck.

Expect Rise of the Tomb Raider to stick to the more open world approach to gameplay that 2013's reboot established. Exploration, third-person gunplay and physical puzzle-solving are all front and center, but it all plays out in expansive environments where new paths unlock as you add to Lara's collection of tools.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is out for Xbox One and Xbox 360 on Nov. 10, 2015. Square's announcement notes that Microsoft's timed exclusivity on gaming consoles lasts for one year, so it's a safe bet that the PS4 Tomb Raider will be out sometime after Nov. 10 next year.
