Chris Morrison of Venture Beat is reporting that RiverWired, a social network for the green-minded amongst us, has received $1.5 million in angel funds from undisclosed investors.
RiverWired is a site dedicated to eco-friendly information with a social networking aspect to it. As Morisson himself described, to look at the front page it would be hard to tell the site offers social networking utilities. The prominence given to original news content and the like disguises those functions. But once you register for a membership, you get a peek beneath the hood.
Besides the normal social functions like making connections with other like-minded people, you also get to write blog posts and share videos, money saving tips, and general suggestions on how to live a more green-friendly life.
