Thousands gathered in Toronto Wednesday to pay final respects to Rob Ford, their famous (and infamous) colorful former mayor who died last week at the age of 46 after a battle with cancer.

Among the throngs were Ford's widow, Renata, son Doug and daughter Stephanie. During the funeral service, Stephanie had a poignant moment, saying, "I know my dad is in a better place now. He's the mayor of Heaven now."

Besides inside St. James Cathedral, many lined the streets to witness the funeral procession for the outspoken politician, as his casket was transported from City Hall, where Ford had been laying in state, to the funeral, and, finally, to his burial.
