This past weekend, I reported on Andrew Baron, founder of Rocketboom, auctioning off his Twitter account and all of the followers that went with it. Well, even after the auction reached over $1500, Mr. Baron decided it was better to pull the auction. Daniel Terdiman of WebWare is reporting that not only was Mr. Baron trying to auction off his account, he also went on to Craigslist and offered a "guest spot" on his Twitter account for two days for $150.

While we certainly have no proof that this was a shock to Mr. Baron, he does work on the Internet for a living, and it is rather difficult to believe that the idea spammers might like this purchase is a bit hard to swallow. As our own Adam Ostrow wrote just the other day, "Twitter Spam Spirals Out of Control"... could it be any clearer?  The blogosphere has been buzzing about how bad the Twitter spam is getting, and yet Mr. Baron seems to have been blind to this news.

Sometimes you just have to call them as you see them, and this reeks to the skies of a publicity stunt.  Sadly, it seems to have worked as he got Twitter users and the blogosphere to talk about it.
