Apple surprised and delighted iPhone fans on Wednesday by adding a new color to the iPhone: rose gold.

The new color, added to space gray, silver and gold, will be offered in the new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.

Apple's new color option falls right in line with its updated Apple Watch color palette.

The choice to add the color to the iPhone line also indicates that $10,000 Apple Watch rose gold option was likely a popular, albeit unattainable mobile device option for many consumers.

Less hyped on stage, but nevertheless a great addition, Apple also showed off matching rose gold and gold Lightning port iPhone charging docks.

The screen sizes for the 6S and 6S Plus come in 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches, respectively, and the cases are made from what Apple describes as a 7000 series custom aluminum alloy.
