Rosie O'Donnell is reclaiming her seat at The View.

Rumors of her return have been circulating all week, but the show made it official with an announcement on Twitter today. "ABC confirms Rosie O'Donnell returns as co-host of #TheView w/ moderator Whoopi Goldberg for Season 18," the show Tweeted.

O'Donnell served on the panel in 2006-07 before leaving the show, in part due to her frequent dust-ups with then co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck, who, by the way, had a lot to say about O'Donnell's then-unofficial return to The View earlier this week.

Calling into Fox & Friends, where she is a co-host, from her "staycation," Hasselbeck said she was not surprised by the rumored return. "I think this has been in the works for a long time," she said.

O'Donnel joins the panel just one week after Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy announced their departures. After the change-up was made public, ABC released a statement saying the show would be "moving in an exciting new direction next season." Or, perhaps, not so new.
