Rummble Sneak Peek: Location-Based Networking Done Right?

There are so many location-based networks out there, it makes my head spin. Another is Rummble, a UK-based startup that's still operating in private beta, testing out its own mobile-integrated, location-based social networking tool. It lends itself to venue reviews, personalized recommendations, and a microblogging tool, all sort of rolled up in one. The hope is to aggregate and leverage this data as a web or mobile search engine that lets users get the individual reviews and information from a selective, trusted and relevant set of users.

As there is mobile integration, Rummble acts as a mobile search engine as well. Rummble's mobile integration also acts as a Twitter-like updating tool, letting you post your status via SMS. As much as it makes sense to have a mobile status tool in Rummble, I'm curious to know why the company didn't just go ahead and offer Twitter integration here. As a matter of fact, Rummble leaves me wondering a lot of things, not necessarily in a bad way.
