It's just not a good day in Techland if there isn't at least one rumor of Google eying a company to purchase. Today's quota is filled by the resurfacing of an old one: Google is looking to purchase UK-based business listings site, Yell.

This isn't the first time such rumors have circulated around the two companies, and as a matter of fact, the last time it happened, Yell got a large bump in their stock value. Since then the stock has fallen to about 50% of its value, and they have also seen their search traffic begin to fall somewhat from 33 million last March, to 28.4 million this past September.

It seems unlikely Google would swoop in when a site is going downhill, they usually strike when the company is up-and-coming. Only time will tell if this rumor is true, but it seems a tad unlikely.
