Remember that last-second interception Russell Wilson threw after an inexplicable play-call to lose Super Bowl XLIX back in February?

The Seattle quarterback now says God spoke to him and explained the whole thing. What's more, He didn't even wait to give Wilson the lowdown -- He told him everything just seconds after the play, before the Super Bowl had even ended.

"They pick the ball off and I take three steps -- one, two, three -- and on the third step God says to me, 'I'm using you,'" Wilson said during a recent appearance at The Rock Church in Southern California.

"And I'm like, 'OK','" Wilson continued. "God says to me, 'I want to see how you respond. But most importantly, I want them to see how you respond.'"

Wilson discusses the play and subsequent talk with God just after the 30-minute mark of this video.

On the play, shown below, the Seahawks had the ball at the New England Patriots' one-yard line while down four points with less than 30 seconds to play. Instead of handing it off to running back Marshawn Lynch, who was having a monster game, the Seahawks called a passing play. Wilson's would-be game-winning throw was intercepted by New England's Malcolm Butler to effectively end the contest.

So if you'd been wondering all these months why the Seahawks didn't hand the ball off to Lynch, you can apparently wonder no more.
