Paul Ryan Beats Joe Biden in Google Search

They may be prepping for tonight's vice presidential debate, but Paul Ryan is already beating Joe Biden on one stage: Google.

Search interest for Ryan has grown since early September, according to Google (the company doesn't reveal actual numbers, but the data is normalized). Query intensity for the two candidates have ran mostly parallel to one another following a surge when Ryan was first announced as Mitt Romney's running mate, save for Ryan's doubling-down against gay marriage in late September.

What exactly are people searching for along with the candidates' names? For Ryan, the top four associated terms are "stench," "AARP," "Debate" and "Biden." And for Biden: "Ryan," "Biker," Obama" and "Speech" ("Stench" was connected to Ryan through an inaccurate quote).

Biden's got a history of having less Google interest than his Republican opponent. Queries for Sarah Palin, John McCain's 2008 pick for veep, eclipsed those for Biden during the last election, too.
