While sexting is almost never safe, a new iPhone app — Safe Sexting — promotes a marginally safer experience, covering up those naughty bits for PG-13 sexting as opposed to the X-rated stuff.
Safe Sexting is nothing more than a photo app that gives you four options for being more discrete: a small box, a large box, a head box and a transparent red silk box. Since the boxes can't be moved around or resized by the user, the app adds nothing new to iPhone experience other than a name that is extremely sensational and highly suggestive.
Still, the app makers have found a way to take a free ride on all the media buzz around sexting. We just hope that teens don't mistake this as a guilt-free way to participate in the trendy, albeit questionable, mobile fad.
