All hail the Lizard King of Salads.

A kindergarten student named Faye was shocked when she unwrapped a bundle of greens to reveal a green anole lizard.

The lizard appeared cold and lifeless, but that didn't deter Faye from bringing the reptile to school the next day to show it to her science teacher, Mark Eastburn.

"Interesting things can happen when you're working as a science teacher," Eastburn told NJ.com.

After warming the lizard up and putting it in the proper moist environment, it has made a full recovery and now lives in Eastburn's classroom at Riverside Elementary School in Princeton, New Jersey.

"We set up a little cage for it. It really came back amazingly well," he said.

Green Fruit Loop, the lizard found in the salad, is doing well, and made it to NJ.com! http://www.nj.com/mercer/index.ssf/2016/01/lizard_found_in_salad_becomes_science_lab_mascot.html#incart_river_home A photo posted by Mark Eastburn (@markeastburn.pps) on Jan 25, 2016 at 8:18pm PST

Eastburn says that the lizard's survival is a testament to the healthy benefits of buying organic, as the greens were purchased at a natural foods store that only sells 100% organic fare.

The kindergartners have taken to the lizard and it has now become a class mascot. They've named it Green Fruit Loop.

Honestly, the most surprising thing about all of this is that a kindergartner was willingly eating a salad.
