Salavat Fidai's sculptures make a big impression on a micro scale.
The Russia-based artist carves his miniature works of art into the tips of graphite pencils with shocking attention to detail.
Fidai tells Mashable via email that each sculpture takes between six and 12 hours to complete, often over the course of two days.
"I love experimenting in various art forms," the artist says. "Miniatures I like because of the complexity. I carve out the micro sculptures from the lead of a pencil because it is very difficult and it is a unique art form. It is a challenge for me: Will I be able to make micro sculpture and not to break the fragile graphite?"
It's this level of patience that leads to intricate carvings that's garnered attention from buyers on Etsy and more than 116,000 followers on Instagram.
