LONDON -- The "will he or won't he" is finally over. It's been confirmed that Sam Smith will sing the theme song for the upcoming Bond movie Spectre.
There has been endless speculation about who might get the gig, with bookmakers favouring Ellie Goulding, Ed Sheeran and even Radiohead, but on Tuesday Smith tweeted that he's lending his voice to the latest instalment of the iconic franchise.

I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it.— SAM SMITH (@samsmithworld) September 8, 2015
On Monday, Smith dropped the biggest hint yet, tweeting a photo of himself wearing a ring engraved with an octopus logo, which is the symbol also used by crime ring Spectre.
"Writing's On The Wall" is already available for pre-order on CD or vinyl and on iTunes from midnight.
In 2013, Adele's haunting "Skyfall" (listen below) became the first Bond song to ever win the Academy Award for Best Original Song. A 77-piece orchestra backed Adele.
