Sampa Turns Your Address Book into a Family Tree

The website and blog creation tool Sampa is launching a new service today that will allow you to quickly build a family tree out of already completed work: your address book.

Available as of today, you need only log in to your Sampa account, import your address book, and you're on your way to an interactive family tree. Viewable either in the traditional, but interactive, tree form, or as an address book, it will also function as a family contact information center. But, for those of you looking to build a full family tree, you can allow other members of your family to make changes and suggestions, which you then approve, and you are well on your way to having a completed project.

The service is free, and bears more than a passing resemblance to the viral model of Geni (also see Genoom). Does that make sense on a blog building site? We're not sure.
