Samsung Appeals Galaxy Nexus Ban

Days after U.S. District Court Judge Lucy Koh banned the sales of Samsung's Galaxy Nexus smartphone in the U.S. due to a patent dispute with Apple, Samsung has appealed the verdict.

Samsung's main point in the appeal is that sales of the Android Jelly Bean-based Nexus cannot harm Apple's sales.

"The Court's order is inconsistent with the Federal Circuit's directive that market share losses must be substantial," the appeal claims. Samsung also insists that these losses must be tied to the infringing feature which, Samsung believes, is not the case here.

Judge Koh might stay the injunction at least until the Federal Circuit decides whether the injunction should stay for the duration of the appeal.
