Samsung has created the ultimate luxury gadget: a 78-inch, curved UHD TV set with a gold-painted back.
The extravagant product, however, has a noble cause: Samsung partnered with Christie's to auction the unique TV, with proceeds from the sale going to Orbis International, an NGO that aims to prevent and treat blindness.

The company created the TV in collaboration with artist Sung Yong Hong, who used a Korean lacquer-painting technique called Ottchil to apply his vision of iconic television scenes and characters to the set's back.
Samsung did not disclose specs for the device, but it seems that -- other than a gold-painted exterior -- it's just a regular 78-inch, curved UHD TV.
The television will be displayed at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, starting Nov. 20.
