Samsung 55-Inch OLED Display Is Ultra-Thin, Super Sharp [VIDEO]

LAS VEGAS -- Come along with us as we explore Samsung's video and home theater offerings for CES 2012, with its 55-inch OLED HDTV leading the list of impressive new products.

As you can see in the video above, the 55-inch OLED display is so thin, you can hardly see it when you move to the side. That's because it's thinner than the width of my little finger, with a nearly nonexistent bezel. Samsung's booth didn't just have one of the OLED screens on display, but had an entire squadron gracing the front entrance to its elaborate CES headquarters.

It's hard to say which OLED screen we've seen thus far was the sharpest -- Samsung's or LG's -- but each is astounding in its sharpness and color saturation, and they've given us a glimpse into the future of home theater.

It doesn't get any better than this -- but someone's got to start talking specifics, such as exact price and availability. No pricing info was forthcoming from numerous Samsung executives, but the company assured us the 55-incher will hit the streets before the year is out.
