Gartner attributes Samsung's rapid rise to "record sales" of the company's Galaxy smartphones. The success of the recent launch of the Galaxy S III surprised even Samsung, Gartner said, having sold 10 million phones in just the first two months of release.

Samsung has certainly made lots of noise this year -- first with the Galaxy Note and later with the S III. It's put a lot of marketing into its products' differentiators, such as the Notes big 5.3-inch screen and stylus and the S III's "human" features, that are supposed to make the user experience more intuitive.

We reviewed both the Note and the Galaxy S III and found much to admire, but also found some features lacking polish (notably, the S III's Smart Stay feature, which is supposed to use the phone's front-facing camera to detect if a user is looking at the screen).

However, the buying public is clearly responding. We'd like to know what it is about Samsung's phones that users find appealing? Is it the novel features? The Android OS, or Samsung's TouchWiz skin on top of it? Or just the fact that it's not an iPhone?

If you use a Samsung phone, please pick the most appealing feature of it in our poll, and share your thoughts in the post below.
