Samsung Thinks It Can Get People to Watch a Sitcom About Its Employees

It's like Friends meets Glee meets a Samsung showroom.

The electronics maker is reportedly developing an hour-long fictional sitcom that centers around a Samsung employee.

Mina, a member of K-pop group Girl's Day, plays Mirae, which means "future" in Korean. The show follows her life as a Samsung employee as well as a few other young Koreans that hope to work for the company.

The part-musical show will have six episodes and are schedule to debut in October.

Samsung has shown a propensity for rolling out branded original content with other previous shows such as Endless Energy.

Korean entertainment is widely embraced throughout Asia, and its shows tend to have a heavy dose of product placement.
