The next Samsung smartwatch will reportedly be a big departure from previous designs.

According to SamMobile, Samsung's next smartwatch, codenamed Project Orbis, will have a round display instead of a rectangular one and feature an innovative new rotating bezel that functions similarly to the Apple Watch's digital crown.

SamMobile's report claims the smartwatch will have a metal design and crown. The screen measures 1.18-inches with a 360 x 360 resolution -- smaller than the LG G Watch R/Watch Urbane's 1.3-inch screen and the Moto 360's 1.56-inch screen.

Rotating the bezel left and right will let you do things like scroll through lists, zoom in and out on pictures, adjust the volume and navigate between screens.

Here are a few examples of how rotating the bezel works:

The round smartwatch will run Samsung's own Tizen operating system and not Google's Android Wear.

It will have a 2G cellular antenna in addition to Wi-Fi and GPS. It'll also have the usual crop of sensors including an accelerometer, gyroscope, heart-rate monitor, magnetic sensor, pressure sensor and UV sensor.

One thing the new smartwatch won't have: a camera, if the report is true.

SamMobile believes the smartwatch will be announced with the Galaxy Note 5 at IFA 2015 in September.
