During an interview to promote the new RoboCop movie, news anchor Sam Rubin of KTLA made the cringe-worthy mistake of confusing Samuel L. Jackson with Laurence Fishburne when he asked Jackson whether he "got a lot of reaction from that Super Bowl commercial."

Jackson quickly calls Rubin out on the mistake by asking, "What Super Bowl commercial?" (This one, which Fishburne stars in.) Rubin, obviously flustered, apologizes profusely, but Jackson refuses to return to the subject of RoboCop until schooling the reporter on famous black actors.

The interview turns into a mini-roast, with Jackson telling Rubin, "We don't all look alike. We may be all black and famous, but we all don't look alike."

Shortly after, Rubin issued an on-air apology, claiming he was referring to a Captain America ad, not confusing Jackson with Fishburne. Either way, the whole situation made for some very awkward live TV.

TMZ broke the story first, but Rubin, unhappy with its coverage, called in to defend himself. This only made things worse, as he got into an argument with Evan Rosenblum from TMZ.
