Call it a case of premature detonation.
San Diego's Fourth of July fireworks show was supposed to last 15 minutes. Instead, all the projectiles went off in 30 seconds about five minutes before the show was supposed to start. Confused attendees waiting for the show to start were told that they'd already seen it and to head home. Authorities blamed a "technical difficulty" for the fizzle.
Luckily, the moment is immortalized in video.
