Just when you thought you had reached peak life, this comes along: Sausage dogs racing on little legs against other sausage dogs to help other sausage dogs. It is pure doggy bliss.

With the shortest legs going around, these little wiener guys -- known as dachshunds -- will waddle as fast as they can to the finish line at the event in Melbourne on Sept. 19.

The inaugural Teckelrennen (German for dachshund race) is being run by the obvious geniuses at German bar Hophaus Bier Bar in collaboration with My Dachshund Online.

The event has already sold out for quick-on-their-feet competitors, but you can still enter your pooch in the best-dressed competition. Because what is better than a dachshund race? That's a dachshund in a costume.

All the money raised will go to Dachshund Rescue Australia, an organisation that saves and rehomes the pups across Australia. Bless.

There is pretty much no doubt you'll die happy a very happy person.
