Having just launched late last year at DEMOfall, SceneCaster hasn't wasted any time getting its next major release ready for this week's DEMO. The new release consists of a feature called SceneWeaver, and it looks to offer more exportable options for 3D scenes created with its application.
[img src="" caption="" credit="" alt=""]This means that the interactivity of a 3D scene can now be embedded in other websites and shared on any device that supports XHTML (that includes the iPhone). The interactive capabilities of a scene are retained, so clickable items can still remain so even when embed in other websites. The result is scenes that can also be linked to any media type as well.
The biggest potential to this end is for advertising revenue, or affiliate programs that online retailers can take advantage of from a rather passive standpoint. If items are offered to users, and they select which items to place in their 3D scenes, then site visitors that click on an item can share it with others or even purchase it directly, given advertisers another interactive way in which to get their branding and marketing across to users, by letting the users themselves do all the promotional work.
