The 'Peanuts' Schrödinger's Cat Experiment

Monday marked the 126th birthday of Austrian quantum physicist Erwin Schrödinger, most noted for his cat experiment.

In the experiment, the scientist put a cat in a box with unstable radioactive material. He proposed that until an observer opens the box, the cat is both dead and alive. It's our perception of the cat that forces nature to create one actuality.

The concept is no easy thing to grasp. But Schrödinger can't take all the credit for the Nobel Prize-winning theory. It seems he had some help from Schroeder, of Peanuts fame.

In the comic below, John Kovalic of Dork Tower pokes fun at the similarities between the famous scientist and the comic strip character.
