Scooby-Doo Gang Battles Zombies in Spooky Photo Series

Protect your noggin because the Scooby-Doo gang wants a bite of your brain.

Photographer Jeff Zoet has reimagined the classic animated series, pitting the supernatural investigators against villains much scarier than the ghosts they've encountered before.

The epic photo series, titled "Scooby-Doo vs. the Zombie Apocalypse," places truly badass versions of Shaggy, Scooby, Velma, Fred and Daphne in a bloody fight against attacking zombies.

Zoet told Mashable that he had been a fan of Scooby-Doo since he was a child. After seeing a rerun on television recently, he came up with the concept for the zombie photo shoot.

"If you just step back and take a look at the core of the TV show, it was about a group of kids that solve mysteries of the strange and unexplainable," he said. "Since it was a children's cartoon, things obviously never got too serious or life-threatening. So, I decided to set up a photo shoot with these characters that my entire generation was familiar with, and drop them into a more 'realistic' world where their lives could actually be in mortal danger."

Zoet said that he's done other shoots inspired by pop culture, adding that, "I love to put my own spin on things that I'm a fan of."
