In the days since protests broke out in Ferguson, Missouri, following the death of unarmed teenager Michael Brown, the photos from the scene have been striking, with the police there eerily resembling a military operation.

Getty photographer Scott Olson has been on the ground since Aug. 11. On Monday, Olson was arrested while covering the protests, but released later in the day. "I want to be able to do my job as a member of the media and not be arrested for just doing my job," he told Pancho Bernasconi, vice president of news at Getty Images.

The arrest didn't deter him. He captured another violent night between the police and protestors when two were shot and 31 were arrested.
