It's a replica for the rest of us.

Jerry Seinfeld's fictional Upper West Side digs have been given new life on Oculus Rift.

The intricate endeavor, dubbed Jerry's Place VR, maps out the title character's apartment down to the smallest of details, including a Superman action figure and 90s-era magazines scattered on the coffee table. Fans can explore the apartment's main room, the bathroom and Jerry's bedroom using the virtual reality headset or a computer.

"Television is virtual reality in some ways," Greg Miller, whose résumé includes a nod to the show's Vandelay Industries, writes on the project's website. "I thought it would be a novel virtual reality experience to take a place that exists in Hollywood magic and make it for the Oculus Rift as if it were real."

Jerry's Place VR took about a month to complete. Miller used Blender, a 3D modeling software, to create the near-perfect replica. The project began as a way for him to introduce himself to Unity, a game engine used to develop software compatible with Oculus Rift.

Determined to make the virtual apartment as accurate as possible -- to become a master of the domain, if you will -- Miller searched the Internet for images of the set and, when the hunt proved unfruitful, took screen shots of episodes he streamed online. There is no specific purpose to Jerry's Place VR other than exploration, but Miller has hidden approximately 11 references to Seinfeld episodes throughout the environment. It's so detailed, it might blow your mind.
