Good for you, Selena Gomez.

The pop star and actress' television project, 13 Reasons, got a straight-to-series order on Netflix, Variety reported Thursday. The show is based on the wildly popular young adult novel by Jay Asher that traces the life of teenager Hanna Baker through a set of cassettes she left behind when she committed suicide.

Clay, a classmate, finds the box and is horrified to listen to Hanna's accounts of her peers' cruelty that drove her to take her own life. So it's basically Wizards of Waverly Place.

The book came out in 2007, but didn't hit #1 on the New York Times Bestseller List until 2011, when Universal bought the rights for a feature film that was never made. Netflix will release it as a series, with Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Brian Yorkey penning the pilot.

Gomez is attached as an executive producer, and no information about what -- if any -- role she will take on camera.

She recently released her album Revival, and wrapped Neighbors 2 with Dave Franco, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne. She is set to tour in support of Revival in the spring and summer of 2016.
