First, museums kicked them out. Now, music festivals are doing the same. Nothing is sacred.

Selfie sticks, the long-feared danger to humankind, have been officially banned at Coachella and Lollapalooza this year, according to the music events' websites.

The FAQ section on Coachella's website calls the devices "narsisstic"; Lollapalooza's site compares selfie sticks to camera accessories like monopods or tripods, which are also banned from the festivals. However, according to NME, the decision to ban the sticks was based on safety issues.

Coachella is being held from April 10 to 12 and from April 17 to 19 in California; Lollapalooza is being held from July 31 to to Aug. 2 in Chicago. The two music festivls are also banning hula hoops, Sharpie markers and drones. Coachmusic and arts festival

Now attendees may actually have to listen to some music.
