Talk about two birds with one stone: Seth Rogen is throwing his pal James Franco a bar mitzvah that will double as a charity benefit.
Rogen and his wife, Lauren Miller Rogen, are throwing Franco's bar mitzvah-slash-variety show through Hilarity for Charity, which they set up to promote Alzheimer's awareness after Lauren's mother was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's at age 55.

Why a bar mitzvah?
“Ever since I’ve known James, he’s been talking about wanting a bar mitzvah,” Seth said in a statement to Variety.
“We’re excited to see him finally become a man while also helping us raise awareness and funds for people living with Alzheimer’s and towards research that will lead to a cure. And in celebration we’ll also have a mohel and a live bris for James at the event.”

Make a man's dream come true AND give to a good cause? What a mensch, that Seth.
There's been no official word yet on who's included in the line-up this year, but guests at past shows have included Paul Rudd, Kevin Hart, Aziz Ansari, Sarah Silverman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruno Mars, Jack Black, Samuel L. Jackson and Nick Kroll.
The party will be hosted at the Hollywood Palladium on October 17, and tickets go on sale on the organization's website on August 11.
