There's a lot of interest in casual gaming, and the platforms that enable an integrated approach to casual social gaming, which can now benefit from networks like Facebook for faster growth and expanded marketing potential. I mentioned the benefits of such a platform approach to leverage other platforms in discussing the Social Gaming Network's expansion of its own platform, as well as Nintendo's and Xbox's extending platforms as well.

More specifically, SGN's new Game Bar allows developers to not only offer their games to more users across integrated networks, but to market to these users as well. Competitor Zynga launched a similar SocialBar last week for cross-promotional purposes as well. With the space getting more and more competitive, the necessity for providing exposure opportunities is a value-added feature for a gaming platform looking to gain and maintain loyal developers.

So in proving its point to the developer community, SGN is boasting some stats from an existing game developer to launch its Game Bar in style. Scoob & Gecko, the development team that's created a writing game called "Just Three Words" has seen a boost of 2,500 new users in one day. With an average of 1,400 new users per day, Scoob & Gecko looks pretty happy with the results that SGN's Game Bar has been able to provide. See here to learn more about Game Bar.
