Her hips don't lie, but you'll be hard-pressed to find them on a bulbous cartoon bird head with no body.

Shakira is now a part of the Angry Birds family, with a new update for Angry Birds Pop inserting the Colombian singer into the game. She's playable as Shakira Bird in Pop for a limited time, letting fans score themselves some extra turns with the use of her special Love Bubble.

This is only the beginning of a longer partnership between the popular singer and Rovio. The company's "Mighty Eagle," Peter Vesterbacka (that's his title), promises forthcoming appearances in both Angry Birds Friends and Angry Birds 2.

"I was very lucky to meet with Shakira at Camp Nou," Vesterbacka said in a statement from Rovio. "Just like everybody at Rovio loves games, Shakira loves music. Within five minutes it was very clear that we had to do something together."

You know what? Good for Shakira. She could have just thrown money at people to have them make her an Official Shakira App, but instead she willingly agreed to have herself turned into a bulbous cartoon bird head. That's not very "on message" for someone whose success hinges in part on her ability to dance, but it makes this whole thing kind of... refreshing? In an odd way, yes.

Of course, this could all go horribly wrong somehow. Vesterbacka was probably angling to hype up the partnership, but it's hard to tell if his final statement is meant to be a promise or a threat: "Who knows what else we'll come up with when we put our heads together? But with 3 billion copies of Angry Birds games out there and with the massive fan base of Shakira, you can be sure the planet will know about it."
