SharedBook, the reverse publishing platform, is holding the SharedBook Open API Challenge starting today. Read more about the launching of SharedBook's API here.
What will you have to do? Create the best extensions from third party applications to SharedBook across three main categories, which include social networking, photo-sharing, and the desktop application or collaborative online community. There will be a winner for each category, and the prizes include their choice of an OpenMoko mobile phone, a 4GB iPhone, or $500 in cash.
This is a way to get the word out about the SharedBook API, and encourage developers to make some really cool tools, which can then be further promoted, benefiting the creator, as well as SharedBook. The contest runs from now until September 30, 2007. The winner will be announced on October 15. See here for more details.
