Now ShareThis is giving their widget a complete makeover to make it even more user and publisher friendly. Select ShareThis partners like AccessHollywood.com and Boston.com are already using the enhanced button, but you can expect to see it for the rest of us in the coming weeks.
So what's different? ShareThis kept all the social sharing features we've come to rely on, but they completely overhauled the user interface - notice that it's now tab free - to make it easy and faster for users to share your content. There's also a contact manager for importing contacts, and an option to save content to your ShareBox account.
The contact manager is win-win for readers and bloggers alike, as it encourages site visitors to register for the service and import their contacts from across a myriad of popular webmail programs, as well as MySpace, Outlook, and ACT contacts. The end result is that members have a faster way to share the things they find across the Web with specific individuals and friends, and publishers benefit from the easier sharing options available to site visitors, which leads to more traffic.
