'Sherlock' Season 3 Trailer: Social Media Reacts to Holmes' Fake Death

A trailer for season three of BBC One's Sherlock highlights the social-media buzz around Holmes' return from the dead.

Season two of the popular crime drama ended with Holmes (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) faking his own death by jumping off the roof of St Bartholomew’s hospital to escape archenemy Professor James Moriarty (Andrew Scott).

In the trailer's final scene, a group of people are sitting in a room when their phones suddenly go off. As they check their them, a barrage of hashtags float onto the screen, including #SherlockHolmesAlive, #SherlockLives and #SherlockIsNotDead.

BBC One released another 30-second trailer for the show in August. The channel also tweeted this photograph to tease viewers:
