The Shining is a terrifying nightmare of a movie. That's not opinion; it's an objective fact. The lady in the tub. Jack's typewriter. Gushing blood elevators. Those twins.
You might think, "Oh, but recreating all of that in gingerbread form ought to be cute and totally not-scary, right?" WRONG. The only difference is now your nightmares will be consumed by doomed little cookie-beings with their chocolate drop ":-O" expressions frozen in a silent scream forever.
