And now we have a name: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The working title Batman vs. Superman is no more as of Wednesday, when Warner Bros. released the official title of its May 6, 2016, blockbuster sequel to Man of Steel. Ben Affleck will play Bruce Wayne/Batman, while Henry Cavill reprises his role as Clark Kent/Superman.

The studio also said that shooting is underway at Michigan Motion Picture Studios and on location in and around Detroit; more location shooting is planned in parts of Illinois, Africa and the South Pacific.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice also stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from Man of Steel. Jesse Eisenberg will play Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons is Alfred, and Holly Hunter will take on a newly created role.

The title is obviously a nod to the fact that Warner Bros. is developing a Justice League film, which the studio confirmed to Mashable last month. Man of Steel director Zack Snyder, who's also helming Dawn of Justice, will also take on that film, which doesn't yet have a release date.
