'Shrunken Football' Photos Make Soccer Delightfully Weird

It's the ultimate sports Tumblr -- except it's on Twitter.

Called -- appropriately enough -- "Shrunken Footballers," the account takes soccer photos, and then delightfully reduces the game's biggest stars to Lilluputian dimensions, while leaving the rest of the image intact.

It's weird. It's creative. But why is it so hilarious? Here are some examples that will explain the account's appeal:

And of course, Diego Maradona's legendary "Hand of God" goal from the 1986 World Cup:

The Shrunken Footballers account has tweeted 18 times since first surfacing on Nov. 11, but has been silent since Nov. 22. Let us pray to the soccer gods that whoever is behind this thing returns to continue its amusingly offbeat magic.
