'Sh*t Rough Drafts' Tumblr Imagines Terrible First Versions of Famous Novels

We've all been there -- staring at a blank screen (or perhaps, if you're reading this from medieval times, the blank sheet of parchment) and trying to drum up the first sentence of a masterpiece.

No one just whips up "Call me Ishmael" and "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth." Usually the first attempts are rough, excruciating, confusing and contain at least three sentences made up of lyrics of the last song you listened to.

Every writer is cursed with it, even the greats. From Shakespeare to Hemingway, many classics (and a few non-classics like the 50 Shades gem) started off as nothing more than a big WTF. "Sh*t Rough Drafts," the mastermind Tumblr of Paul Laudiero, imagines what those initial drafts might have looked like.

The end (it's just as hard thinking of a way to end a masterpiece).
