As a U.N. Messenger of Peace, Academy Award-winning actress Charlize Theron focuses on the prevention of HIV and the elimination of violence against women. In 2007, she founded the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project to help African youth keep themselves safe from HIV. Since its inception, it has directly benefited more than 200,000 people in sub-Saharan Africa.
