Facebook is doing its part to help you find new friends, recommending people you may know and even allowing existing friends to recommend someone they think you should be friends with. There isn't, however, much in the way of finding compatibility amongst those friends. While Facebook is doing a little bit to improve the type of relationship displayed between you and your friends by tailoring the newsfeeds and recently enabling comments, there are a number of other services out there that are taking advantage of Facebook's platform and API to make direct connections between you and your friends, for a variety of reasons.

This only works with those friends that have also taken the Signal Patterns test, and it is a very direct and hands on approach to finding those people you're compatible with. The tests are fairly lengthy (not short and visual like Matchmine), but Signal Patterns does hope to branch out even further with its trait-based tests in order to find you the best matches amongst a number of sites revolving around media and social networking.
