Microsoft Launches Silverlight Streaming

So we just love to criticize Microsoft (who doesn't?), but the Silverlight technology that Ray Ozzie is unveiling at Mix today looks to be a real accomplishment - it really does provide a challenge to Adobe's dominance.

In addition to the promoting the Adobe Flash rival, he's announcing "Silverlight Streaming by Windows Live", a free hosting and streaming service for developers. Devs get 4GB of webhosting from the service, which is currently in alpha. Look out too for the Silverlight Streaming SDK. More big news: a cross platform version of the .NET framework within Silverlight Alpha 1.1.
